    TF#12 - PEOPLE'S HERALD

'Game of Thrones Ascent' refugee. Happiest doing PvE and crafting but in other games I've offered good support for fighters and held my own against others at my spending level.
Beastling Pack Guild is tentatively planned as an Arborean cartage/caravan service, offering guardians & guides to off-world travelers to prevent unforeseen hinterland casualties/losses between civilized spaces.

    • KP for City Skills

I don't make a lot of suggestions about new features, but I would like to suggest that it would enhance joy and be very realistic if players got KP (and possibly creatively designed skills) for doing the work of keeping a city running.

I'm hopeful that slaughtering deer, stags, and bunnies will EVENTUALLY result in some CHA skills, so that will help give some point to killing them other than KP and meat.

But even an aggro pvp-meister like @Nekrage will want a couple of folks in town who are good at doing upkeep stuff. And to keep our cities running happily, there ought to be a serotonin kick for the player who just smelted his first alloy, or bagged his 20th grain bag.

Not gonna make this a novel but I can imagine some sweet 'skills' to learn wrt farming and smithing.

    • Guild Recruitment Request: Base Location or Time Zone

Hi guys! Some of y'all are already doing this, but it would be great if it were more consistent.

Best guild play experience is when folks can actually play together. Knowing where the guild is based would be very helpful for new players seeking a group available to play when they are, right?

Wanna suggest posters in this thread tag their subject line w your Guild's base location (e.g. W-EU, E-NA) or w a Time Zone (e.g. GMT+3). It would help a lot!

If your guild is large enough to have members worldwide, that's awesome! Let folks know that too.

I love my Meridian guildies, but I also have one eye open for a copacetic crew forming on the US West Coast or thereabouts. The EU teams are already sleepy by the time I can log on 😴

    • RE: PvE Planet with PvP

I find it fascinating that, with two planets wide open for PvP action, it seems vitally imperative to some folks to ensure that their PvP action pushes whatever boundary @Prometheus & the devs might decide to set up.

I personally think that the devs have done a really cool thing in Fractured by creating a world where those who dont' dig PvP can play against the environment, or travel to other parts of the game for a more controlled PvP experience, or create another toon to fight with.

I also think it's really cool that the devs have set up some stiff barriers to violent incursions, to ensure the enjoyment of the game by those who have chosen that environment over the 2 (count'em TWO) planets where PvP is just fine and dandy.

This is, obviously, the cue for anyone who hates any kind of limitation on their prerogatives to debate the need for/desirability of those barriers, and look for ways around them, instead of playing on their own f'ing TWO PLANETS.

Can you tell how I feel about that? Here's some emojis 🙄 😒

I can't tell folks how to play, or what to want, but I would ask y'all to consider being mindful of what will attract/repel others. I don't think I'm the only one who invested in this game because I would be able to enjoy PvE w/o getting attacked by people who have spent LOTS of time getting big and bad. If I want to fight other players, I can go to another planet anytime.

Pushing the boundaries on Arboreus, simply for the sake of doing so, has the potential to fubar Fractured's whole basic concept. I like Fractured's whole basic concept very much.

    • New Limits on Locating Packaging Stations Is Unrealistic & No Fun

Y'all know I don't usually gripe, but the devs changed something in this test that really chafs my tukkus:

For the first time, it's impossible to locate packaging stations near the fertile fields.
      🤦 WTAF, guys? 🙄

In what universe do cropworkers carry full backpacks of produce all the way to town to bag them up??? My poor horse, Skippy, dragging her encumbered rider past packs of wolves, over and over (bc a person can only carry so much, so there are several trips for each harvest). Just ridiculous, and I can't sugarcoat how I feel about this. 🔥 🔥 😠 🔥 🔥

Not sure whose idea it was to change this, but I hope the ability to locate packaging stations near croplands will be restored in future tests. Anyone who agrees, raise your hand high so @Prometheus can see you. 🙋

    • RE: [Urgent QoL Suggestion] Chat Feature "Stop Scrolling" (+ add mute)

      @Kazzier said :

I'm certain that features like this will be added. Just at the moment the developers are focusing more on the engine and groundwork. Makes sense for them to prioritize at this point. It will come 🙂

Welcome to the forum, and to the game! Your profile says you've been a member for a few days already. Hope you're enjoying things! I really appreciate that you counsel patience with the devs as they build a HUGE vision from the ground up.

What you can't possibly know is that @Kralith has been doing this from the very beginning, and is beyond patient.

Kralith is a player who actually posts about pretty much every bug they run into, while the rest of us run around and have fun and shrug off the bugginess of the alpha until it inconveniences us... then come to the forum to complain. THAT'S normal behavior, and unsurprising. Kralith is a bloody saint.

The chat has been problematic from the start, with no way to /mute or /ignore trolls and spam, and only one VERY AWESOME VOLUNTEER moderator named @Specter. @Prometheus and the devs are well aware of this, and they have read LOTS of posts requesting various QoL improvements for their game. These chat features are a top 3 ask. It's esp. frustrating when there's an 'open' test and a ton of trolls show up just for the lulz 🙄

I normally stick up for the devs every chance I get when forum-ites kvetch about minor issues (check my post history) but this time they've made a decision that I can't support. This isn't minor, and I can't imagine why it's so difficult to just get it done when it's probably the most-requested Do-able QoL feature (there are a few more requested but not in the cards, like a WASD movement system or an auto-ride/instant-transport thingee).

The ability to /mute or /ignore stuff that messes with a player's ability to be helpful in chat (as we all hope to be, and Kralith very much is) must happen eventually. You and I agree on that, Kaz. What you can't know, being so new, is how long people have waited, and how many people have asked.

    • RE: Ok, Bought the game after a 2 min video on youtube; was it the right choice?

😆 😆 to be brutally honest, I bought in one night after more bourbon than usual.

I'm totally poor, and/but I wanted the devs to know there were players out here so sick to death of the 'freemium' model that we'd spend $75 for even a CHANCE to play a game like Fractured.

Not, I'll freely admit, my wisest financial decision. But my experience since then in this community and with the game - even just the bare bones the devs have gotten up for testing - has been worth what I spent to me.

Value is a peculiar thing, innit? Welcome to our community, @Girlxs! Here's hoping that, like me, you get what you paid for and then some. 🖖

    • RE: Where is the news of the next test phase...

@islesofurth - now THERE'S the sense of aggrieved entitlement I'm familiar with from so many game forums! 😤 😭 "I paid MONEY! now JUMP, you lackeys, or I shall stamp my foot once again!"

So many places that kind of attitude is normal, I guess I can't blame you for thinking it would work here too.
So glad to see you are wrong. @Znirf's reply is so lovely and polite, and you probably won't appreciate that at all. Hope you'll find someplace else to be. You're obviously not going to enjoy this community at all.
      🙋‍♀️ bu-bye!

    • RE: B2P vs F2P

Gonna validate your question, @RoyalX, and let you know you're not the first person to ask it.

There are lots of good reasons why the devs want to try something different, and if you do a quick forum search with the string "F2P" you'll learn many of them. I won't repeat them here - @Xzoviac has laid a few out nicely already.

Honestly, there are SO MANY 'freemium' games to play, I always wonder why people who prefer them don't just keep looking instead of trying to mold this game to their preference when it's clear from the front page why the devs are doing things the way they are.

Hoping you'll stick around and maybe even buy the new game to see whether the difference ends up working better for you. I personally have played LOTS of 'freemium' games, and I'm really excited to get a different experience in Fractured.

As we head into 2022, I wanted to drop in and say HAPPY NEW YEAR to y'all 🥂 🍾 💃

I might not be able to play the game as it's been developed, but I've really enjoyed the companionship and intelligence of this forum over the past year. Staying sane isn't always easy during times like ours, so those of you who are out there being cool for each other deserve a little pat on the back.

Keep it up, y'all! Here's hoping your New Year will be filled with joy, peace, and good health.

    • RE: Statement on the Gamigo-rumors

@Logain - thanks for the specific and helpful response! I am disappointed that the rep gamigo has is for moving games toward max monetarization using p2w. That would really kill the dev's vision.

The vid @Prometheus just released makes specific assurances about the concerns expressed, but I know 'the proof is in the pudding' & 'time will tell' are cliches for a very good reason. If the team was having trouble staying liquid and finishing their product in a reasonable window, they may have had to choose btw continuing the build or losing all they'd worked for.

Jacopo is clear in the vid that they'd been in conversation w gamigo since day one. There's an outside chance that gamigo is looking to soften the rep they've developed by supporting a game model that's NOT what they usually do. "Time will tell"

@Logain - can you say more about Gamigo's 'reputation' or offer some sources for those of us who don't follow the gaming world as closely? I really hate the whole 'some say' thing. A quick DDG search didn't turn up anything scandalous for me - are we talking about political connection to extremist groups? bad labor practices? sexual harassment allegations? or what...?

      KUDOS @TheBodo for such a detailed, thoughtful post! 👑 👍 🍻

Although I'm unable to play anymore ftb, so I have 'no dog in this race', I still have hopes to play SOMEDAY so I'm happy to see such a great conversation. The devs are lucky to have this kind of community to hear from as they build the game and it necessarily evolves.

So far, the devs have been open to constructive feedback about the game that doesn't pull it from their original creative vision for the game. I'm hopeful that they'll read this thread carefully and consider which of these suggestions might make their vision a more successful one.

    • RE: Questions for roadmap for planet design

great conversation! The core differences btw the planets, for me, have always been in terms of ecosystems & pvp/pve rules. I hadn't given much thought to having entirely different fauna on each planet, but now that you mention it, it wouldn't make sense to have completely different ecosystems/flora and not have planet-specific fauna. Duh me, right?

So far I've been truly impressed with the creativity and organic 'rightness' of the mobs on Syndesia, even w balance issues. I'm willing to wait and trust that the other planets will be populated just as thoughtfully.

Like many watching this forum, I'm waiting with 'bated breath for Arboreus. 🖖
